Clean and Safe Water + a, Tasty Arisu!

Arisu promises to deliver upgraded, premium-quality water without the characteristic taste and smell of tap water, from which even traces of all organic matter have been completely removed. As part of the promise to deliver the best-tasting water, in August 2010, Seoul Waterworks Authority has started operating an environment-friendly, advanced water purification treatment system with the ozone and granular active carbon (charcoal) process added to the existing standard purification process in the Yeongdeungpo Water Purification Center. This system will be applied to all purification centers in Seoul by 2015.

Taste Improved, Smell of Disinfectant Decreased

Although tap water chlorination is a necessary step in ensuring the hygiene and safety of tap water by destroying harmful microorganisms, it inevitably adds an unpleasant smell to drinking water. To remove this smell, a system wherein only a minimum amount of chlorine is added primarily in the purification plant and again in the reservoir and circulating pump has been adopted. The “dispersed chlorine injection system” to disperse chlorine injection across a multiple number of stages significantly reduces the unpleasant smell of chlorine.

Arisu water quality information is available in real time through the Seoul Waterworks Authority’ website or via mobile phone. Seoul Waterworks Authority will ensure that such information is accessible anytime, anywhere by increasing the number of medical channels and methods for information access in the future. Finally, Seoul Waterworks Authority will continuously make efforts in R&D so that customers can drink fresh, clean Arisu with peace of mind.
